About the Artwork:
The artwork "Goliath or Fighting Life" tells the story of the fight between David and Goliath. The biblical tale is exemplary for seemingly hopeless unequal power relations. If the weaker would resist, one assumes his defeat. But not in the story of David and Goliath. In the 1st Book of Samuel, we are told how the young shepherd David defeats the overpowering commander of the Philistines named Goliath in single combat with a small slingshot. The work shows the snapshot of the battle while throwing the slingshot. On the lower left, the brave David stands on a small unstable pedestal holding his inconspicuous weapon. Goliath, on the other hand, is large and centrally positioned in the work, standing on a stable hill.And yet, despite his apparent invincibility, Goliath is overthrown by David.
The artwork was to be exhibited at the New York Art Expo in 2020. It was previously called only "Goliath" and was later supplemented with "Battle Life.

Über das Kunstwerk:
Das Kunstwerk „Goliath oder Kampfleben“ erzählt von der Geschichte des Kampfes zwischen David und Goliath. Die biblische Erzählung steht exemplarisch für scheinbar aussichtslose ungleiche Machtverhältnisse. Würde der Schwächere Widerstand leisten, so geht man von seiner Niederlage aus. Doch nicht in der Geschichte von David und Goliath. Im 1. Buch Samuel wird erzählt, wie der junge Hirte David den übermächtigen Feldherrn der Philister namens Goliath mit einer kleinen Steinschleuder im Zweikampf besiegt. Das Werk zeigt die Momentaufnahme des Kampfes beim Wurf der Steinschleuder. Links unten steht der mutige David auf einem kleinen instabilen Podest und hält seine unscheinbare Waffe in der Hand. Goliath ist dagegen groß und zentral im Werk positioniert, auf einer stabilen Anhöhe stehend.Und doch, trotz seiner augenscheinlichen Unbesiegbarkeit wird Goliath von David gestürzt.
Das Kunstwerk sollte 2020 auf der Kunstmesse New York Art Expo ausgestellt werden. Es hieß früher nur „Goliath“ und wurde später um „Kampfleben ergänzt.
